Watford based charity Playskill released a new film which showcases their work during the COVID19 outbreak.
The charity provides specialist therapies to children and families in surrounding areas.
Playskill teamed up with videographers from Watford, Think About It Films, to document their work with children during the pandemic – all done remotely.
A rapid and innovative adaptation of their service has meant that more than 50 children have received one-to-one specialist support, directly into their homes via video conference.
Playskill Founder, Andrea Clarke MBE, said : “I was delighted when we were able to team up with Ian and Steve at Think About It Films to show everyone the incredibly important work we have been able to continue during this challenging time.
“With thanks to the emergency COVID funders who have made it possible, from funding our therapists to paying for our Zoom licence, all have contributed immeasurably.
“The wonderful staff team at Playskill have gone above and beyond in helping me to ensure Playskill’s vital early intervention work could continue, and three of them have been awarded a Heroes of Hertfordshire award in recognition of that work.”
When the COVID19 outbreak hit, all of Playskill’s sessions and a lot of their fundraising was put on hold.
They receive no government funding and rely entirely on donations from individuals, companies and trusts and foundations to fund its work.
