A petition has been created for a new banking hub in Abbots Langley Post Office.
The hub, spearheaded by Abbots Langley district councillors Vicky Edwards and Ian Campbell, would allow residents to withdraw and deposit money and have face-to-face appointments with bankers.
However, in order to move forward with the proposal, Link – the consortium of banks behind the National Banking Hub scheme – must see evidence that the local community would support it.
Cllrs Edwards and Campbell have set up a petition hoping to achieve this, available to sign online and on a physical copy at the Post Office.
Speaking to ABBOTSnews, cllr Edwards said: “I am backing a banking hub for Abbots Langley as I think it would be a great addition to the High Street and would make up for the loss of the village’s last bank in 2021.”
