A very grateful Chalfont St Peter resident took to Facebook to thank all the locals that came to the rescue of her husband when he fell off his bike.
She took to social media and said: “This is a little late, but I wanted to say a big, heartfelt thank you to all the very kind people who stopped to help and to offer help when my husband came off his bike on Saturday.
“To the off-duty policeman, the trainee nurse, our lovely and extremely helpful neighbour, the people from number 7 who brought out the big umbrella, the lady I never met who called the ambulance, the gardener who gave him a bag of compost to prop up his head and everyone else who stopped to ask if there was anything you could do to help, thank you.
“Lying in the middle of the road in the rain for an hour and a half waiting for an ambulance, with what turned out to be a broken femur wasn’t that much fun, but you were all amazing and made it so much better.
“If I had lost my faith in human kindness (which thankfully, I hadn’t) you would have restored it.”
