GOOD NEWS: Plans for Green Gym in Chalfont St Giles to go ahead

Published on: 11th April 2021   |   By: Amneet Kaur   |   Category: Uncategorized

Plans to start a Green Gym in Chalfont St Giles are set to go ahead with the easing of restrictions.

Green Gyms are fun and free outdoor sessions where residents are guided in practical activities such as planting trees, sowing meadows and restoring habitats.

The Green Gym was due to begin in 2020, however due to the pandemic, plans were put on hold.

Following discussions and meetings, two areas were approved as areas that could benefit from work. These are Riverside Walk and The Dell at the recreation ground off Bowstridge Lane.

Chalfont St Giles Parish Council are currently liaising with the Environment Agency, Misbourne River Action Group and The Chilterns Chalk Streams Project Officer to ensure that any works carried out in the area will enhance the river for wildlife and plants.

This initiative is brought to you by parish councillors: Gordon Patrick (Chairman), Mary Phillips (Vice Chairman), Des Bray, Jane Chamberlain, Robert Gill, Grant Kirkby, Philip Lea-Wilson, Jackie Lomas, Ros Massey, Jeremy Ryman, Neil Sebba and Derry Vilcans-Moody.

If you are interested in getting involved in this project, you can find more information on tcv.org.uk/greengym/
