A 10-year-old from St Albans has braved the cut and donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust.
Ronia Joshi has raised over £700 for the charity after cutting off over 18 inches her long hair into a pixie cut.
Although she was nervous about saying goodbye to her long thick hair she knew she was helping another child who needed it.
Ronia said: “I loved my thick hair but really wanted another child to feel better about themselves so I decided to donate.”
Her mother Nina Breunung said that previously they have both donated hair to the charity but this year decided to fundraise as well.
She said: “When she was about six we did it together but didn’t fundraise and now her hair was really long down to her hip I suggested we did and fundraise this time.
“Ronia is very happy, she knows that she’s fundraising and doing it for a good cause. She feels very proud that she’s helping children that don’t have hair and supporting cancer research as well.”
Nina added that they want to say a special thank you to Tielsi Hairdressing in St Albans who cut Ronia’s hair and donated the cost of the cut to charity.
