Radlett Cricket Club (RCC) have been busy preparing themselves for an exciting return to the Hertfordshire Premiership Cricket League (HPCL) in May.
On Saturday, May 10, the team will start their league season in the top division of cricket in Hertfordshire with a match against Totteridge Millhillians Cricket Club. Ahead of the tie, RCC have made a host of changes and improvements.
Redecoration and refurbishment work on the main and lower pavilions is well underway, which should be ready for the summer.
Ahead of the start of the first team’s campaign, RCC have confirmed that opening batsman Dom Chatfield will be taking over as the team’s captain, whilst Rahil Thapar will be continuing as the club’s second team skipper.
The second team are aiming to be promoted, according to RCC, who say the squad will play “a key role in developing our younger talented players that will eventually move up to the 1st XI”.
Mohibur Rahman Adnan will be taking over as third team captain, while Lalith Thantirimudali continues in his role leading RCC’s fourth team.
As the club continues to expand, and ahead of the women’s team’s first year in the Hertfordshire Women’s Cricket League, RCC have said new players are always appreciated. To enquire about joining the club, email tom.jenkins@radlettcc.com
RCC are also searching for more volunteers to support the club. For more information, please contact Colin Chatfield on 07834 528317 or email colin.chatfield@radlettcc.com
