Gagan Mohindra, MP for South West Hertfordshire, visited Divine Saviour Catholic Primary School in Abbots Langley on Friday, May 9, to see their keep-active programme in action.
The Joy of Moving programme is run by Ferrero UK, Watford FC Community Sports & Education Trust and the English Football League. It uses fun, play-based activities to inspire children to be active and lead healthy lifestyles.
Mr Mohindra MP said: “It was fantastic to see the Joy of Moving programme in action at Divine Saviour School. The netball-style game really got the children moving and working together as a team.
“What stands out most about this programme is that it isn’t just about physical activity, as the pupils are also in the classroom learning about the importance of healthy eating. I really enjoyed chatting with the children and seeing their engagement with the games and the learning.
“Programmes like Joy of Moving are vital. It’s great to see practical, engaging lessons that can build good habits for life.”
