Golfing Society sails to rescue

Published on: 8th August 2018   |   By: Tim Green   |   Category: Uncategorized

A sailing club for people with disabilities has been boosted by £1,000 thanks to a donation from the West Watford Golfing Society.

Brian Willetts, a past captain of the society, presented a cheque to Graham Vickers, a trustee from Colne Valley Special Sailors (CVSS) who are based at Bury Lake at the Rickmansworth Aquadrome.

Brian explained how the donation came about.

He commented: “When our recent captain Paul Glover received a call for help to support a local disabled sailing charity in replacing worn out sails, he had no hesitation. We were delighted to help such a worthy cause.”

Graham Vickers commented, “This donation will make such difference and we are all so very grateful to everybody at WWGS.

It is believed the donation will be spent on new equipment.
