GOING LIVE: Livestream of Rickmansworth alleyway goes viral on TikTok

Published on: 29th November 2022   |   By: Bryn Holmes   |   Category: Uncategorized

A livestream of an alleyway leading off of Rickmansworth’s High Street has become an unexpected viral sensation on the video streaming app, TikTok.

More than one million people have liked the ongoing video, regularly broadcast by the ALLEYWAY KING account, which currently has more than 17,000 followers.

Many residents are perplexed at the stream’s unexpected popularity, which simply shows the comings and goings of Rickmansworth residents making their way through the alley between the High Street and Northway, near the Boots store, accompanied by relaxing music.

The account’s popularity has also prompted many people to perform funny actions in the alleyway in the hopes of being featured in the video with some having a dance, others star jumps and one person even performing a Punch and Judy show.

Locally born comedy Jack Rooke, whose autobiographical comedy series Big Boys recently became a hit on Channel 4, also appeared on the stream after it went viral.

Ryan, who runs the ALLEYWAYKING account, says he has been extremely surprised by the popularity of the livestream.

Ryan also says he’s had such a positive reaction from people, with 99 per cent of people saying how much they like the livestream, despite some concerns from residents over people behaving inappropriately in the alleyway for the video.
