Garston-born boxing star Anthony Joshua returned to the estate where he grew up last month and handed out cash to local children.
Anthony Joshua (known colloquially as AJ) posted a live video of his return to the Meriden Estate on Instagram on September 24. In the footage, he is seen outside Munden View tower block with dozens of children swarming to get a glimpse of their hero.
When AJ asked what they wanted, he was met with a chorus of: “Money!”
AJ laughed before pulling out a wad of cash and urging the children to form a queue. He then handed each one a £20 note.
He was also seen giving the children electric scooters, saying: “It’s only right.”
AJ seemed in excellent spirits, taking photos with families, as well as signing autographs, clothes and even a dog’s lead.
Following his defeat to Ukrainian fighter Usyk, talks of a bout with Tyson Fury are ongoing.
