This month, HEMELnews spoke with Chantelle Rance, the 2023 Miss Nations Europe winner, on the launch of her new podcast.
Chantelle, who lives in Hemel, has always been interested in acting and modelling, but it was during the COVID-19 lockdowns and the rise of social media influencers that she was inspired to grow her brand.
She said: “I’ve always been quite petite and thought I couldn’t do modelling. It was my lovely mum who encouraged me!”
The rising star began pitching to photographers, growing her network and producing short films. She then made it to the final of Top Model, walked in London Fashion Week, and moved into the pageant world.
She explained: “Pageantry has a lot of negative views from the outside. But when taking part, you realise it is all about women empowering other women. Most pageants are also associated with a charity, which I think is amazing.”
Chantelle was crowned Miss Nations Europe last year. One of her outfits was inspired by the 1966 England kit, paying homage to the growing popularity of women’s football.
Now, Chantelle has released a podcast, The Shizzle Reel Podcast, with fellow actor Sereena Parris. The duo delve into topics such as secret admirers and the horrors of modern dating, as well as a special feature called ‘What’s in the DMs?’, where they take a look at what their listeners are talking about.
Chantelle thanked Sintillate Talent for their support and continued: “I struggled with anxiety and self-confidence a few years ago, so I worked on my mindset.
“It’s never easy, but if you don’t believe in yourself, then no one will!”
