GET INVOLVED: Bushey badminton club strives to make sport accessible for all

Published on: 23rd February 2023   |   By: Holly Bullen   |   Category: Uncategorized

A badminton club holding weekly sessions in Bushey is looking for new players and coaches to join them.

Keith Burns, who lives in Bushey, first set up Abbey Badminton Club in St Albans in 2008, and the club has since expanded to offer sessions at The Grange Academy.

Speaking to BusheyNews, Keith, who won Badminton England’s Grassroots Coach of the Year 2022, said the club offers something for everyone.

He said: “We are a very open badminton club. There are lots of clubs where you have to be a certain standard to play, but we pride ourselves on the fact anyone can walk through the door.

“We want sport to be accessible for everyone and offer something that brings sport to the whole community.”

The club runs sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays in Bushey from 5-6pm and 6-7pm.
