This Saturday (October 4) the Big Draw will take place with lots of drawing and animation-based activities with Watford-born animator Joy Batchelor. The free event, which is part of Watford Big Events series, will take place on The Parade, Watford in a space by the Pond from 11am to 4pm. The Big Draw will be based on George Orwell’s Animal Farm; the animated classic was written, directed and produced by Joy Batchelor. Elected Mayor Dorothy Thornhill commented: “I am immensely proud of Watford’s connection to Joy Batchelor; her work was hugely influential and leaves a tremendous legacy. “The Big Draw is a wonderful tribute to her talent, providing a great opportunity for everybody to gain an insight into various drawing and animation techniques. “I’m also thrilled have reached the half-way point in our Big Events series. Not only have we brought The Parade to life but it’s been fantastic to see the people of Watford having such fun in their town.” There will be drawing, printing and animation workshops and a Funky Farm dance workshop.
