GCSE success for Francis Combe students

Francis Combe Academy celebrated yet another successful year today as year 11 students collected their GCSE results. The school’s head teacher Deborah Warwick commented on the school’s success and how proud she was of each student. Rashed Ahmed, 16, achieved two A*’s, six A’s, four B’s and one C and he hopes to further a career in engineering commented on his grades. He said: “I am pretty happy with my results, it was a great weight off my chest, I had no life for about a year so I could revise.” The GCSE exam process has recently been overhauled with a greater focus on end of year exams as opposed to course work and modules throughout the year. Jemma Burke, who was successful in her GCSE’s, commented: “I found it easier than last year because I prefer exams; it’s easier to do all the exams at the same time opposed to some exams at the beginning of the year and some at the end of the year.” How did you do in your GCSEs?
