Garston Park Parade in Garston and the area around it has seen a further facelift.
County councillors for Meriden and Stanborough banded together to help fund sturdy new ornamental rails to replace ugly steel municipal ones.
Cllrs Kareen Hastrick (Lib Dem, Meriden) and Cllr Tim Williams (Lib Dem, Stanborough) jointly funded the new black ornamental rails to help enhance the parade which last year had its footway and road way resurfaced and some new trees planted and bollards replaced.
The councillors said: “This is a well used local shoplifting parade and we wanted to keep it that way for the benefit of traders and residents and are delighted as traders and residents have told us how much they like this new enhanced look.
“These new guard rails are there to protect pedestrians, especially the school children and stop any dangerous parking and these guard rails are much sturdier. They also enhance the look of the Parade as the previous rails were in such a battered condition.”
