Garston Manor officially opens

A school in Garston celebrated their grand opening today but burying a time capsule and inviting guests to view the newly finished premises.

Garston Manor School, on Horseshoe Lane, officially opened their brand new school by inviting guests such as Mayor Dorothy Thornhill and people who had been involved in the redesign since the start. Headteacher Julie Lowman told My News Maagzines that it was a momentous day for the school and she was ecstatic the day was finally here. She said: “We are absolutely delighted to be where we are now. We first heard about the opportunity to be a sample school in May 2012 and the pupils first moved in to the new school in September so it has been over two years. “I have been here in various capacities for about 25 years and it is been brilliant to see the school grow as it has. “It is like we have won the lottery and the kids have been great. They didn’t flinch once at the move and it has been so natural to them. “We had so many open discussions about what the children needed and although it took some time, this is the end result and it is exactly what we needed.”
