GARDENING GUARDIANS: Kings Langley gardens recognised in awards presentation

Published on: 26th November 2024   |   By: Ellie Rose   |   Category: Uncategorized

While there is a plethora of charm in Kings Langley, one thing which might catch the eye of passers-by is the exquisite gardens dotted throughout the village.

This year, some of the best lawns were celebrated as part of the Gardens Competition which took place at Kings Langley Cricket Club on Friday, October 18.

Before the presentations got underway, there was a fun Gardener’s Question Time hosted by Craig Brace, head of horticulture at the Sunnyside Rural Trust.

British wildlife expert and local gardener Pam Litton spoke to residents about the eight swift boxes recently purchased by the parish council and sought advice about where they should be placed around the village.

Winner of the Best Contemporary Garden was Marina Cox, and Allen Bently secured the Best Overall Garden for 2024.

Budding champion Glenda Seal won Best Newcomer with a garden that “had a little of everything”.

A buffet was provided by Dallings and a raffle and auction raised £340 for the Sunnyside Rural Trust.

Councillor Alan Johnson shared: “It was another great year for judging, and we were delighted so many of this year’s winners were able to join us for the celebrations.”
