An inspirational Stanmore resident has been nominated for the upcoming mylocalHERO awards for a “combination of athletic feats and philanthropy”.
Hamzah Hussain, 25, has been put forward for the Sporting Achievement of the Year category after completing a long line of ambitious fundraising challenges.
His auntie Jamela said: “He has committed to raising staggering amounts for different charities including emergency earthquake appeals.”
Some of Hamzah’s achievements include taking on the Three Peaks Challenge, cycling from London to Cambridge, and completing the London Triathlon. He has also set his eyes on completing an Iron Man in Marrakech.
Jamela added: “All of this in one year is an amazing achievement.”
His mum Maria said: “I am so proud of him. He has supported so many causes; whoever is in need, Hamzah will do something to raise money for them.”
The mylocalHERO awards will take place in November 2024. Turn to page 26 to find out more.
