FUNDING FOR FUTURES: Watford Women’s Centre needs help with refurbishment project

Published on: 27th December 2021   |   By: Jake Levison   |   Category: Uncategorized

Watford Women’s Centre (WWC) is looking for fundraisers and donors for an ambitious refurbishment project which will help them to continue to support women experiencing domestic abuse by providing a range of counselling and educational services.

The centre, which has been based on Market Street since 2012, wants funds to build new soundproofed counselling rooms and to improve the reception area, kitchen and classroom, as well as modernising the office space.

Fiona Miller, CEO of WWC, said: “Demand for our domestic abuse support and counselling services has increased over the past 18 months.

“To meet this increased demand, we need to improve our premises for the benefit of our clients and staff, who have been working in a space that is not ideal for purpose.

“We are asking for donations for this project so we can be able to help more women to rebuild their lives by providing the services that they need, in a modern, safe and welcoming environment.”

The refurbishment project is expected to cost in excess of £50,000, with work due to start in 2022.

Fundraisers are invited to create their own sponsored events or to donate directly here.
