A Chorleywood resident will run the Southampton Marathon next month in support of a much-loved local charity.
Simon Elson, 23, has been a keen runner for several years and will put his athletic skills to the test when he takes on the challenge on Sunday, April 7.
The funds he raises will go to Mission EmployAble, a Chorleywood-based charity which supports adults with special needs looking for employment, and with whom Simon has a personal connection.
After setting up his own marketing company, Mission EmployAble was one of his first clients.
Speaking to Chorleywood News, Simon said: “I’ve been working for them since the very early days. They’ve had a big impact on my life, and it’s amazing how much they strive to make lives better.”
When asked about how he felt about the marathon, Simon added: “I definitely feel nervous but excited, because as I train more, I begin to feel more comfortable about the race.”
