A father and daughter were left terrified after a vicious dog attack in Stanmore.

The incident is alleged to have taken place on Saturday, October 14.

Rajeev Doshi was walking through Canons Park parade with his daughter, who was 17 at the time, and her Pomeranian dog shortly before noon.

A woman walking a much larger grey dog were passing by, before it pounced. The Pomeranian was “grabbed and shaken around like a toy” and was left temporarily unable to walk.

Rajeev told STANMOREnews that it then had to be taken to the vet and sedated.

He said: “My daughter was also attacked when she tried to save her dog. The owner walked off whilst my daughter took shelter in the local hairdresser.”

A video showing the aftermath of the incident showed the owner struggling to coerce her obviously agitated dog away.

In the video, the woman insists: “He’s friendly; he just doesn’t like little dogs!”

Herts Police have been contacted for comment.
