FREE PARKING: Council’s Bushey and Radlett parking charges suspended amid coronavirus

Published on: 24th March 2020   |   By: Jake Levison   |   Category: Uncategorized

Parking charges and parking enforcement for most contraventions in Hertsmere have been suspended until further notice as part of the response to the coronavirus outbreak.

However double yellow lines are still being enforced to stop any dangerous parking and to keep the traffic flowing.

This came into effect from 8am today (March 24, 2020).

The council has said it will keep this under review over the coming weeks and react to any further developments where and when necessary.

Councillor Jean Heywood, portfolio holder for transport, said: “We are making some adjustments to our services, in line with government guidelines, as part of the huge effort by everyone to tackle the coronavirus outbreak.

“The suspension of parking enforcement does also include the residential controlled parking zones. We recognise the concerns in residential areas where people are now at home. We’re facing exceptional challenges presented by the Coronavirus and we all need to play a role in responding to that.”
