FOOTY FUNDS: St Albans sports teams and schools to benefit from government funding

Schools and sporting facilities in St Albans are among 1,700 across the country to benefit from new government funding.

Harvesters FC have been awarded a total of £11,762, which will be used to buy and upgrade the pitch maintenance equipment the club currently has at its base on Oaklands Lane.

Elsewhere, Beaumont School has received £5,700 and Tornado Junior Sport Club has received £1,080, which both will use for new goalposts.

St Albans Rangers Victoria 2022 have received £1,885 to use on portable floodlights.

Across England, £64.2million of government funding has been awarded to nearly 1,600 projects through the Football Foundation, with support from the English FA and the Premier League.
