FOOD 4 ALL: Garston charity delivers vital supplies to those struggling in Ukraine

A Garston-based charity has made another journey to Ukraine to deliver vital supplies to those affected by the war.

The Food4All team left Watford on Saturday, March 25, and crossed into Ukraine on Monday, March 27, where they stopped off in Odesa, Mikolaiv, Kherson, Kharkiv and Kyiv, after visiting Auschwitz-Birkenau along the way.

They delivered more than £19,000 worth of equipment, an ambulance and two vans for food distribution.

Charity director Peter O’Grady said: “The weather here is -10 degrees, snowing heavy, and a freezing wind. Trucks were blown off the road and people are struggling. I am supporting the food distribution and [my brother] Ian is transporting fleeing people to safety.”

Peter has made four journeys to East Ukraine, where the charity operates kitchens and supplies food to Ukrainian people in need.

If you would like to support their work, Peter suggests sponsoring them with food or equipment, or helping the team at their food banks in Watford.
