Published on: 12th September 2022   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

1Life’s centres in Harpenden, Batchwood and Cotlandswick will be welcoming the people of St Albans through its doors on September 21 to take part in National Fitness Day with a whole host of free activities.

Harpenden is hosting Zumba, bootcamps, PT consultations, aqua sessions and protein sampling as part of the day, while Batchwood will have bowls and golf taster sessions, racquet sports, PT consultations and discounts for rounds of golf.

Cotlandswick will have free group PT sessions, BodyPump classes, junior boot camp, protein sampling and PT consultations. All three centres will also be participating in 1Life’s national fitness challenge, which will give exercisers the chance to win a massage gun worth more than £200, courtesy of Pulseroll.

For people interested in gaining a deeper understanding of their body, a number of InBody slots will be available throughout the day at Harpenden. The state-of-the-art technology measures your body and provides a detailed, yet easy to understand report – showing you your baseline numbers and helping with the development of smarter health and fitness goals.

James McNulty, Contract Manager for 1Life, said: “National Fitness Day is all about getting people moving, something we do here every day at 1Life. We take pride in providing an inclusive and enjoyable space for people to socialise, try something new and better themselves. Last year more than 21 million people took part in National Fitness Day and we’re going to be doing everything we can to help the nation smash that number this time round!”

This year the campaign will continue to encourage people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to come together to recognise the importance of prioritising being active for our mental wellbeing as well as physical health.

James continued: “While passes on the day will be free, we are asking those interested to sign-up ahead of time to streamline the check-in process. I’d encourage anybody who is interested in trying something different, meeting new people or just wants to get moving to head down. There will be something for everyone!”

Those taking part are encouraged to tag 1Life and #FitnessDay on social media throughout the day. To book your guest pass for the day, visit 1Life’s website https://www.1life.co.uk/ or download the free app.
