Residents are set to enjoy a flipping good time this month as the Pancake Race returns to the borough once again on Tuesday, February 17.
The community as well as businesses will come together at Pondside event space, and smiles are expected to be on display as the races commence.
Gripping their frying pans extra tightly, many will have been practicing their technique and make it to the finish line where a medal of congratulations will be awarded.
Joining residents on the flipping fun are Celebrity Race Around the World Series 2 winners Sam Vaughan and BBC Radio 2 presenter Scott Mills.
Post-refreshments will also be served at the Café in the Library and all funds raised are set to be split between Watford Mencap and the Watford Community Fund.
Asked how it feels for the race to be back in town, Watford Mencap fundraising manager Michelle said: “The Pancake Race is a fantastic celebration of community spirit, and we’re thrilled to bring it back to Watford. It’s fun, inclusive and a brilliant way to raise awareness and funds for important local causes.”
The event is supported by Everyone Active, and residents hope for annual appearances.
Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said: “I’m thrilled to see the Watford Pancake Race return. It’s a fun, lively tradition that brings our community together.”
