A two-day youth festival held at a school in Moor Park last month was a roaring success.
The inaugural SRMD London Youth Festival took place at Merchant Taylors’ School on the weekend of July 22 and 23. This follows the SRMD Global Youth Festival, an annual event which takes place at Shrimad Rajchandra Ashram, Dharampur, India.
From sports tournaments to masterclasses on topics relevant to today’s youth, the festival brought together 350 young adults aged between 18 and 39 to enjoy an array of engaging activities.
Dean Russell, MP for Watford, who attended the event, said: “The atmosphere at this event was incredible, and I [was] very grateful [be able to] say a few words regarding the Youth Festival’s objectives, which are inspiring. I was pleased to also help pack bags which were due to be delivered to the YMCA in Watford this week.
“I was very impressed to learn that the festival was completely organised by the youth, for the youth. I am looking forward to learning more about the work which takes place following the weekend’s activities and I wish the group every success in the future.”
