This month, Hemel News spoke to Dani Acors, the brains behind the first professional pantomime in Dacorum in more than 20 years.
Dani was born and raised in Hemel and performed in pantos as a young child.
She went on to co-found Smash Arts Theatre Company with Alex Williams, a performing arts school that runs classes from Longdean School. Last month, Dani was thrilled to put on Cinderella at
The Centenary Theatre, Dacorum’s first panto since 2001.
Dani said: “Centenary Theatre has never had a professional panto before, so we wanted to create something amazing. In the future, we would love to collaborate with local businesses to make this show as community-based as possible.”
The panto featured actress Phoebe Ferrira, and RuPaul’s UK Drag Race star Veronica Green.
She continued: “The aim was to create a local show that has been missing, so residents can enjoy areas like Hemel and Berkhamsted, without having to travel far!”
