Chorleywood Bookshop recently hosted a sold-out event with Jo Hamilton OBE as part of Independent Bookshop Week.
More than 100 attendees enjoyed the evening at Chorleywood Library on Monday, June 16, which included a live discussion with former sub-postmaster Jo, a Q&A session and a book signing of her newly published memoir, Why Are You Here, Mrs Hamilton?.
A campaigner for justice for victims of the British Post Office scandal, Jo was one of more than 700 sub-postmasters prosecuted between 2000 and 2014 based on information from the Post Office’s faulty Horizon accounting system.
There was an enthusiastic and emotional response from the audience as they listened to Jo discuss her book, a first-hand account of how she built a Post Office that was at the very heart of her community and lost it all through no fault of her own.
