Two teenagers were arrested yesterday (Tuesday, April 13) after police found suspected firearms in a vehicle in North Watford.
A 17-year-old male from Watford and an 18-year-old male from Bushey remain in police custody after police found a bladed article, suspected firearms and cannabis in their possession.
Hertfordshire Police said: “At around 2.20pm yesterday, officers on proactive patrol spotted a suspicious male get into a taxi in The Harebreaks. Another passenger was also inside and then one of them exited the vehicle before officers brought it to a stop in Longspring.
“Officers searched the vehicle and found a bladed article and suspected firearms.
“The remaining passenger, an 18-year-old man from Bushey, was arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of cannabis.
“Officers then conducted a search for the second passenger and he was located and arrested at a property in St Albans Road. The teenager, aged 17 and from Watford, was arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of cannabis. Both those arrested remain in custody at this time.”
