FIND THE TREASURE: Treasure Trail Walk at Leavesden Country Park next month

Published on: 1st July 2020   |   By: Jake Levison   |   Category: Uncategorized

The Abbots Langley Local History Society has organised a Treasure Trail Walk in Leavesden Country Park which began on July 1 and ends on July 19.

Anyone can participate by solving a series of 20 clues as they stroll past the heritage sculptures and other features in the park.

The route has been chosen with social distancing in mind and it is suitable for all ages and is wheelchair friendly.

The timeframe has been kept long so that people have plenty of time to go to each destination without overcrowding becoming an issue.

Once the clues have been solved, competitors are invited to submit their answers at any time before  July 19. Participation is free and correct entries will be put in a hat and the winner drawn at random on July 20.

The prize of a cake baked by a local professional chef will be delivered to the winner’s doorstep.

Details can be found on the History Society’s website: allhs.org.uk or alternatively competitors can download the free ViewRanger app and search for ‘Abbots Langley Treasure Trail Walk’.

The route is one of several that have been uploaded by the Parish Council as part of their Footpath Walks Online initiative.

The Treasure Trail Walk is included in Hertfordshire’s Year of Culture 2020 and has the support of Three Rivers District Council who, after a successful bid to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, have been able to create this wonderful Heritage Trail for all to enjoy.
