FESTIVE FUNDRAISER: Santa Dash to return to Chorleywood for annual charity run

Published on: 1st November 2024   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category: Uncategorized

Lovers of fancy dress and charity runs will be delighted to hear that the annual Charity Santa Dash on Chorleywood Common is back, with residents now able to sign up.

The event is organised by Mission EmployAble, with the PTAs of Chorleywood Primary, The Russell and Christ Church C of E schools. This is the fourth edition of the charity run, and will see hundreds of residents dressed up like jolly St Nick, making their way around the common, on Saturday, December 7. Participants, and their furry pals, can sign up for a 2.5k, a 5k or a challenging 7.5k, choosing between a run, walk or even skip.

The money raised will go towards Mission EmployAble, which helps disadvantaged young people find employment and gain valuable workplace skills.

To make the event even more exciting, prizes will be awarded to the three fastest adults and three fastest children, as well as a special prize for the best fancy dress.

Katharine Weston, chair and founder of Mission EmployAble said: “We hope residents will enjoy this year’s Santa Dash and we are delighted that the new interns have settled in well, and proud to say that 93% of last year’s graduates have already found paid jobs they enjoy.”
