Rickmansworth Festival is set to go ahead after fears that rising costs would mean the event had to be cancelled.
Rickmansworth Waterways Trust (RWT) told Rickmansworth News that the price of hosting the festival had risen from £40,000 to the region of £70,000.
RWT appealed for residents to support the event with a donation, and thanks to the generous community, they have confirmed that the festival will go ahead as planned on May 20 and 21.
Croxley Green Parish Council were amongst the donors, supporting the event with £2,500.
A spokesperson for RWT said: “We have been working hard through the year to bring you another amazing Ricky Festival. We have had a great response to our initial appeal and several generous sponsors have helped narrow our funding gap from £10,000 to £4000. With what you have donated through JustGiving already, we only need around £2,000 to break even!
“We know it’s a really tricky year for many people and businesses, but if you can afford to help towards funding this fantastic community event, every donation, however big or small, will help us to do that.”

Have they reached out to local events companies such as WA Carr & Son to see if they can help reduce costs??
