An investigation is underway after fire crews tackled a fire at a farm building in Kings Langley, with fire crews praised for their quick action.
Crews were called to Balls Pond Farm, Chipperfield Road, at around 1.40am on Tuesday, May 16, after calls regarding a building fire.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The first appliance from Kings Langley arrived within 10 minutes and quickly assessed the scene. Crews were faced with a well-developed fire in an agricultural building at the rear of a farm.
“Crews worked hard to fight the fire externally to extinguish the fire and prevent further fire spread. The incident was particularly challenging due to the building containing asbestos.
“Thanks to the prompt arrival and swift action of the initial crews, the fire was contained to the building of origin and did not spread to other areas of the property.”
An investigation is being carried out to establish the cause and origin of the fire.
