FANTASTIC FUN RUN: Charity challenge raises £16,000 for Berkhamsted hospice

Published on: 5th November 2021   |   By: Jake Levison   |   Category: Uncategorized

More than 200 residents helped raise thousands of pounds for The Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamsted through the charity’s Ashridge House Fun Run.

The fun run on October 17, which a total of 220 people participated in, raised more than £16,000 for the hospice, which continued to provide care to local residents throughout the pandemic.

Runners either took on the 5k or 10k challenge, and each received a bespoke handmade wooden finishers medal at the finish line.

Following the fun run, a hospice spokesperson said: “Wow! What a top effort by all our Ashridge fun runners. It was fab to be back at Ashridge House and see more of our wider hospice family face-to-face again.

“What’s equally fantastic is that more than £16,000 has been raised in support of our hospice care. We’re truly a community hospice – we salute each and every one of our 220 runners.

“A massive thank you to Ashridge House and our event sponsors, Fine & Country Berkhamsted Estate Agents. And a big shoutout to Ian, our photographer, for his great snaps.

“We absolutely loved seeing you all. It just made us even more excited to be back with Mud Pack in October 2022 – watch this space.”

The Mud Pack Challenge is a 5 or 10-mile muddy obstacle course, also on the grounds of Ashridge House. For more information, go to www.stfrancis.org.uk/support-us/events/detail/mud-pack-challenge
