A mother-and-son team from Northwood have been named among Britain’s fastest-growing entrepreneurs after their wellness business secured a top 10 place in a prestigious national ranking in June.
Free Soul, founded by Rohini and Arjun Sofat in 2017, debuted at number 10 in The Sunday Times 100 list of Britain’s fastest-growing private companies. The business increased annual revenue from £1.2m in 2022 to £42.3m in its latest financial year, representing more than 32-fold growth in five years.
The company was launched following a family health scare and started as a small operation run by the pair from the ground up. Today, Free Soul’s nutrition and wellness products are stocked by major retailers including Boots, Tesco and Holland & Barrett, serving millions of customers across the UK.
Chief executive and son Arjun Sofat said: “It is an incredible achievement. When my mum and I started the business in 2017, we were packing orders ourselves, borrowing friends’ cars to make deliveries and figuring things out as we went.
“We simply believed women deserved better from the nutrition industry, and that belief continues to drive everything we do today.”
Speaking to Northwood&RuislipNews, he added: “It’s incredible to have someone in your corner that unconditionally has your back. However, things can get a bit awkward on the rare occasion we disagree during the day when we have family plans in the evening.
Free Soul said it plans to continue investing in new products and retail expansion as it grows. The company was founded with a mission to improve access to women’s nutrition and wellness support at every stage of life.
