A Citroen Picasso with cloned number plates was spotted at 11.15am in London Road in St Albans Tuesday, July 13 by the Hertfordshire Police’s Mobile Support Team.
It was followed and stopped 10 minutes later in Barnet Road in Potters Bar. The vehicle was seized and the driver, who had no driving licence or insurance, was reported and will be summonsed directly to court.
A second vehicle, a cloned 4 x 4 Mercedes, was also seen at 1.35pm on Holywell Hill yesterday by the mobile unit, which had been stolen from Lancashire.
It was stopped on the M25 near junction 18 and the driver, a 23-year-old man from Middlesex, was arrested. He has been given police bail until August 10.
