Pupils from Fair Field Junior School in Radlett were crowned champions at the Hertfordshire Panathlon recently.
The Panathlon Challenge is a national charity which provides sporting opportunities for over 17,500 children with additional needs each year – a local competition is held yearly for local primary school students.
Fair Field students took part in a circuit of events during the Hertfordshire Panathlon on November 7, including Curling, Boccia and Polybat (an event similar to table tennis), accumulating points as they went around.
They were crowned the champions and left proudly with their medals and trophy.
They will now progress to the next stage in the competition next year.
The school’s new P.E. leader and acting head of School, Catherine Goodwin, said: “I am so proud of the sporting energy and team spirit the children displayed. It’s the first time we have participated in this competition and it certainly won’t be the last.”
