A local resident has contacted Radlett News to highlight the “unaffordable” and “unreasonable” costs of school clubs.
The resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, wants to emphasise how difficult it can be for parents to afford school clubs due to the cost-of-living crisis.
They warned that many children are likely missing out because of this. Some parents are even having to reduce their work hours in order to be able to pick their children up from school as they cannot afford the clubs.
The resident, whose children attend school in Radlett, said: “If I were to use both the breakfast club and the after-school club, I would be paying £43 per day, £215 per week and £860 per month. Please tell me, does this seem reasonable? I don’t know how anyone can afford that.
“My wages cover my bills and food shopping only so there is no room for extra costs.”
