A Hemel based charity which supports young people with special educational needs recently launched a mobile café.
Charity Blue Tangerine Café hosted a private event on July 15 in partnership with Smith’s coffee to raise awareness of the work they do and celebrate the launch.
Some of the guests who attended the event included the Mayor of Dacorum and the Mayoress, Mike Penning MP and Annie Brewster, acting chairman of Hertfordshire County Council and District Councillor.
The charity supports three schools within The Blue Tangerine Federation; The Collett in Hemel, St Luke’s in Redbourn and Forest House in Radlett.
The young people supported by the charity created their own unique blends of teas, artisan coffees and hot chocolates and the café is available to attend a wide range of events, locations and business across Hertfordshire.
They receive a range of accredited qualifications including Level 1 and 2 Food Hygiene and Level 1 Barista Skills.
The aim of the charity is for every child to develop the confidence, skills and self-esteem required to thrive throughout childhood, into adulthood, and as a contributor to our mainstream world.
If you would be interested in hosting the café email cafe@bluetangerine.herts.sch.uk for further details.
