Published on: 30th August 2025   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Uncategorized

Merchant Taylors’ School in Northwood has announced the appointment of Sam Baldock as its next head master.

He will take up the role in September 2026 following the retirement of Simon Everson, who has led the school since 2013 and will continue in post throughout the 2025-26 academic year.

Mr Baldock studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge and went on to work at Westminster School for 10 years, where he taught biology. He served as assistant head at Mill Hill School before joining Bedford School in 2018 as deputy head (academic), later becoming vice master and serving as acting head master.

He will become the 33rd head master in Merchant Taylors’ history.

Mr Baldock said: “It is a tremendous honour to be appointed. I have long admired the school’s academic ambition, its breadth of opportunity, and its strong sense of identity and purpose. I look forward to working with pupils, staff and families to build on the school’s many successes and shape an exciting future together.”
