Maple Cross JMI & Nursery School has received a £500 grant from a Hertfordshire county councillor to support families who are hoping to send their children on a residential trip.
The mixed school caters for children aged four to 11 and offers multiple enrichment opportunities.
The cost for a residential trip is £500 and is funded by parents. This recent grant from councillor Paula Hiscocks will go towards the pot that the school uses to support five families who would otherwise not be able to send their child on the trip.
The trip offers the children the opportunity to learn self-care, independence and responsibility.
The young people will also take part in exciting new opportunities such as a high ropes course, abseiling and other adventurous activities.
Cllr Hiscocks said: “Some of our families do not qualify for a grant and would find the expense prohibitive. This money will be used to ensure all children in Maple Cross School can have this experience.”
