Small and medium-sized businesses across Three Rivers are being offered support to cut their carbon emissions amidst the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.
Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) is working with Eastern New Energy (ENE) to offer a programme which will help businesses make vital changes to reduce energy costs and help them work towards net-zero and improve sustainability credentials.
Under the scheme local businesses will have free access to a building energy assessment and renewable energy survey, providing them with a report listing the most cost-effective projects.
The results of the survey can be used to apply for match-funded grants between £1,000 and £6,750 from low carbon workspaces.
ENE can also help local companies by assessing whether there are electric vehicles on the market that meet their needs, then comparing the total cost of ownership of electric vs conventional vehicles.
The organisation’s experts can help develop a business plan and advise on sources of funding.
The free energy assessments close for new applicants from February 28 next year.
