Dacorum Borough Council have heralded residents across the borough for the success of the Great British Spring Clean.
The council declared the litter picking as one of their most successful community action events this clear as more than 500 bags of litter were collected.
Over 1,030 volunteers took part including families, schools, scout groups and brownies putting in a total of around 950 hours over the two-month campaign.
Councillor Graham Barrett, portfolio holder for environmental services, said the council are grateful to all the volunteers who helped to tidy the borough.
He said: “The dedication and enthusiasm displayed by our local volunteers has been wonderful to see. Thank you to all those that stepped up to help with the cleaning efforts, serving as community role models and leading by example.”
