Sustainable Three Rivers (S3R) will stage its first Feeling Good Week in February, thanks to funding from Hertfordshire County Council and the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
Designed to inject a bit of life into the dreary days of February, the Rickmansworth-based sustainability group will host two workshops: one directed at primary school children and the other for teenagers.
S3R spokesperson Rosi Jordon, who was inspired to reach out to local schoolchildren after the success of the recent Three Rivers Youth Council forum on sustainable living, said: “The idea is to encourage young people to get together, support each other and learn about nature and sustainability.
“The finer details aren’t yet sorted, but we’re thinking to have workshops on making soil and birdboxes, as well as continuing our partnerships with local libraries.”
Feeling Good Week will run from February 5 to 9. All workshops aimed at bettering the physical and mental health of children will take place after school hours. Find out more on the S3R website.
