Several Twitter accounts are being investigated by police officers after advertising illegal drugs to be sold in Rickmansworth, amongst other locations across the country.
The many posts on the accounts all have the same text, stating: “Yo mates. Like always Plug Jay has the following stuffs now available for delivery.”
It then proceeds to list the items available, which include marijuana, cocaine, magic mushrooms, THC, cannabis edibles, meth, MDMA, ketamine, ecstasy and steroids, all substances which are classified as illegal to possess by the Misue of Drugs Act. It also advertises vapes for sale.
It then proceeds to showcase contact details, including a phone number, Snapchat handle, Telegram account name and Wickr account name.
The tweets also list several towns and villages across the country where the drugs are available, including Rickmansworth. However, some of the other locales mentioned in the tweets include places as far off as Skegness in Lincolnshire and Wombwell in South Yorkshire.
When questioned on whether they were investigating, a spokesperson for Herts Police said that Rickmansworth’s local detective inspector has been informed of the tweets, and the investigation has now been passed on to the force’s intelligence department.
