A man has been charged with drug offences after being stopped whilst driving in Bushey.

During an operation conducted by the Operational Support Group (OSG) and assisted by the Mobile Support Team (MST), a Porsche Cayenne was stopped in Bushey. Cocaine was discovered during a search of the vehicle.

Officers went on to search the man’s home and seized class A drugs (heroin) worth an estimated £30,000, three stolen Blue Badges and a fake driving licence.

Ebenezer Daramola, 39, of Otter Place, Bushey, was arrested and later charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs (heroin and cocaine), handling stolen goods and possession of an article for use in fraud.  He was remanded into custody and will appear in court on Thursday, May 2.

Sergeant Dave Perkins, from Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Operational Support Group, said: “These types of operations are continually being conducted to disrupt the drug supply networks in our towns. A lot of planning and intelligence work goes into this type of covert work that often goes unnoticed but is key to stopping drugs from getting onto the streets.

“These types of operations are often driven by the information we receive from the public, so if you have suspicions about drug dealing in your area, report it to us so we can build up a picture of intelligence and take action.”

If you have information about drug crime in your local area, report it online at herts.police.uk/report, via online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or by calling the non-emergency number 101. Always dial 999 in an emergency or if a crime is in progress.

Alternatively, members of the public can stay 100 per cent anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org
