A local businesswoman has shared her story after founding a hair loss treatment brand.
Jayna Kerai, a Radlett resident since 2017, founded REIKA with the mission to support people who are suffering from hair loss, a struggle particularly close to her heart.
Speaking to RADLETTnews, Jayna shared her journey.
She said: “During my teenage years and twenties, I struggled with alopecia areata, an autoimmune condition that caused hair loss. It was an incredibly traumatic time, leaving me with bald patches on both the front and back of my scalp. It severely impacted my confidence and self-esteem.”
Jayna tried various treatments with little success, until she came across an Indian treatment plan called Ayurveda, which saved her hair.
She said: “This experience not only transformed my hair but also changed my perspective on self-care and wellness. It’s a story that has always stayed with me, and it has been the driving force behind what I do today.”
Jayna’s product range includes Ayurvedic-inspired hair oils, accessories, and tools, as well as educational resources, designed to help individuals get their best hair and feel empowered in the process.
Jayna added: “I’d love for my brand and the awareness around what I’m doing to grow into a trusted space for holistic hair health, where people not only find products that support them but also education and guidance that empowers real, lasting change.
“I’m actually so grateful for my own experience of having alopecia areata and hating my hair growing up. Even though it was difficult at the time, I wouldn’t change it for the world as it means I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing today through my brand to support others.”
