Filming has begun for the second series of House of the Dragon at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden.
Following a highly successful first season, the HBO/Sky show, a prequel to the global hit Game of Thrones, announced its return to the studios via an Instagram post on April 11.
Since then, several major sets have begun to take shape on the studio’s grounds, all of which appear to be castles from the show’s medieval fantasy setting.
Leavesden residents also recently received notices from the studio, alerting them to filming with special effects that took place between April 17-21 and May 2-23, all late into the evening.
The leaflets forewarned: “These dates will involve high-level film lighting, use of controlled SFX, atmospheric smoke, flame effects, wind machines, bangs, gunfire, rain machines and general production filming noise.”
Once filming is complete in Leavesden, the show will move to Cáceres, Spain. It is unknown when filming will end and when the show will be released.
