The Watford & Three Rivers Trust has launched a fundraising appeal to help send essential supplies to Ukraine.
The fundraising target of £3,000 has already been exceeded with more than £4,000 raised so far.
Launched in conjunction with Watford Borough Council the fundraiser will help fund local charity Goods for Good in their action to send supplies to Ukraine.
Each truck filled with essential relief aid will cost £3,000.
Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said: “Watford is a town packed full of people doing extraordinary things for others every single day. These awards were a fantastic opportunity to say thank you to some of them.
“I was so pleased that we also raised over £4,000 on the night to support Goods for Good. They are a brilliant local charity who are taking trucks full of essential items to help the people of Ukraine.”
